Off grid avocado farm in Australia completely self-sufficient for 660 days

Munich, June 21, 2018 - Battery storage manufacturer Tesvolt and project developer Unlimited Energy were awarded “The smarter E Award” for a project realized in South-West Australia. The avocado farm in Pemberton has already been operated on battery power only for the last 660 days. The energy concept for the farm includes a 53 kilowatt (kW) photovoltaic system that simultaneously feeds a 160 kWh saltwater battery system as well as a 48 kWh Tesvolt energy storage system. The farm is completely self-sufficient and is operated without connection to the power grid.

Wittenberg/Schwerin, 11 June 2018 – Utility company WEMAG is launching the Germany-wide distribution of Tesvolt commercial storage systems. Tesvolt, the storage system experts from Wittenberg, beat competitors to be chosen as WEMAG’s supplier for large commercial storage systems. These systems make it possible to store the electricity produced by, for example, solar or wind power installations on farms, factories or car showrooms at an average cost of just 9 euro cents per kilowatt hour (kWh).

Wittenberg, 04 December 2017 – TESVOLT has begun delivery of the new TS HV 70 generation of high-voltage storage systems, which store energy even more efficiently than before. To enable installers to compare different storage systems reliably and transparently, TESVOLT is also now offering an LCOS calculator on its website. This can be used to calculate and compare the actual costs per kilowatt hour stored (levelized cost of storage, LCOS) – making it the very first online tool to offer such a clear and comprehensive comparison.

Stand-alone grid with storage system, photovoltaic system and combined heat and power unit at an altitude of 1,900 metres

Wittenberg/Mieming, 19 September 2017 – The commercial storage system manufacturer TESVOLT has supplied a battery storage system for the Coburger Hütte mountain refuge owned by the German Alpine Club (DAV) in Tyrol, Austria. The storage system, with a capacity of 77 kilowatt hours (kWh), replaces the old lead-acid battery and increases the solar power consumption of the cabin, which is fitted with a 16 kilowatt peak (kWp) solar power system. The entire energy supply installation is tailored to meet the DAV’s stringent environmental and sustainability criteria for mountain regions.

Wittenberg, Hainburg/Germany, 22.11.2016 – The German firm Tesvolt, which manufactures commercial storage systems, has entered into an exclusive cooperation agreement with the start-up Africa Green Tec. Tesvolt is supplying lithium storage systems for 50 solar containers with a total capacity of 3 megawatt-hours (MWh), enabling a reliable power supply in 25 villages in Mali.
